I am running for council so that there is a voice from the working-class part of the community, to be heard and fairness is shown, given a real angle at the table to be represented, transparency honesty and what is best for the whole region not just Tamworth. I feel I can offer my knowledge of the region as I have lived and worked, he all my life experienced different roles of employment and my heart is in the right spot for a fair go for everyone not just the big end of town you must look after everyone bottom, middle and the top.

Because I am part of the Labor party doesn’t mean my mind set is swayed it is two different jobs and keep my true values for what I stand for which is the same fairness transparency and to keep them honest.

Because I am a Australian Workers Union organiser I get travel around meet many people of different nationality race Colour gender, in my eyes we are all equal, we touch the same ground we breath the same air, so I am passionate about helping people who are taken advantage and neglected this I see in employers who look after them selves at the expense others, so it’s basically the same job you have to look after the community that’s what your role is.

I think all decision making in council should be open to public scrutiny and made available on the public record. This keeps everyone accountable for actions of what is said done in meetings, that the public has the option to see how the outcome was made and transparency made available.

I think that having could honest counsellors at the table is the start willing to participate with the community with various options open so more community-based involvement.

Understandably, the Council needs to maintain confidentiality around some issues and be discussed in Closed Council sessions. How do you feel those Closed Council discussions impact the Council’s transparency and accountability?

This depends on what the issue is about, how serious what are the ramifications, but at the end of the day if a vote taken, should be recorded so if for any reason there should a paper trail to be lead back on the outcome good or bad.

Yes

I think there are many different options that council should be looking at not putting your eggs in one basket, there has to be a balance for water usage, we must look after the agricultural ,residential and industry the balance must be right it all plays a part of Tamworth and region. I think diversifying to different alternatives that are cost effective and have the best benefit for everyone example could be recycle of water other areas where water can be taken no idea is bad as long it has the option to be looked at and explored because now, they have tunnel vision.

Once it’s gone you never get it back and wants to be bloody good reason to sell community assets.
